Archaeological

The archaeological background of the Villa Celia contains a large selection of pieces of Ecuadorian archeology, mostly in ceramics, representing all the native cultures of prehispanic Ecuador. Archeology was an aspect for which Celia had greater attachment than her parents. There are wind pre hispanic musical instruments, unique and very curious.

ART AND FURNITURE

The Villa Celia conserves copies and original canvases of Ecuadorian, Latin American and European artists, sculptures, engravings and furniture that his parents acquired throughout his diplomatic life. Celia added another set of pieces that includes works by contemporary Ecuadorian artists, and also oil paintings, sculptures and furniture from the Quito School of the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The figures of birth must be the best and most exquisite that are preserved. Regarding the animal theme her daughter paid attention to the representations of dogs and birds and managed to gather a significant group of works on different supports.

MUSIC

Celia Zaldumbide collected that link to her vocation and her mother's, music. In this horizon the traces marked by Isabel Rosales Pareja continued, she acquired pianos and musical reproduction equipment, enriched the collections of scores of Ecuadorian, Latin American and European composers. To the musical recordings in carbon and in acetate, he added permanently, diskettes, CDs and videos preferably of Ecuadorian and universal academic music, folkloric of several towns and jazz. He updated the important bibliographical collection that accompanied the piano training of mother and daughter.

LIBRARY

Villa Celia preserves the personal library of Don Gonzalo Zaldumbide, to which his daughter increased with works, in Spanish, French, English, referring to the topics of interest that Zaldumbide shared with his daughter: Ecuadorian, Spanish, Latin American and French literature, literary criticism, essay, history and travel chronicles. As a support and support to the archaeological background, the visual and decorative arts structured a well-nourished library specialized in these matters. Due to its curiosity for the culinary as a cultural manifestation of all the people, it formed a rich bibliographic fund that can be used by experts and interested in the subject.
